Amazing house!!!!

Hello!!me and my little baby stayed 12 days in this beautiful house! It is up in the hill so you can enjoy everyday a stunning ocean view and it is 20 minutes by walk from the beach and 10 min by car from the supermarket .

When you get in there is a huge living room with a sliding glass door to go out in the balcony . We had any meal outside. The kitchen is fully furnished, and renewed.

Every room has a king size bed and own bathroom with bath tub. My room had a sliding glass door too...when I awaked up in the morning, open the curtain and see the ocean..I felt so happy and in peace with my self. Outside there is a swimming pool, clean and deep, with some deck chairs .And there is a laundry too.

In this house you feel at home!!

The owner, Marie-Josee, is a lovely fantastic person, and she available to help you in anything you need.

Montserrat is a fabulous island, you are surrounded by nature, not McDonald and commercial stupid stuff, just nature, animals, ocean, beach, freedom, peace, tranquility, love, and life. You can breath pure air and feel alive.

I reccomend this house, I just loved it!! I'm looking forward to come back again (sorry for my English)

Avalon: Montserrat's Perfect Home From Home
We were a party of six, including two grown up children and their partners, hence looking for a home from home to suit a variety of holiday expectations. This was our first visit to Montserrat though we have visited numerous islands in the Caribbean, and we specifically chose to visit this idyllic island over the St. Patrick’s holiday period.

On arrival late in the evening after a long a tiring journey from the UK, Dyann was there to greet us and was so warm and welcoming. We were wowed by the interior of the villa as she showed us around. The décor looked even better than the pictures on the website; in addition, Dyann had ensured the fridge, freezer and larder were well stocked with even more goods than we had requested, which was so thoughtful. But we were not able to appreciate the spectacular views until first light. What a view! The word stunning doesn’t even seem adequate; it just took our breath away as it will yours! On waking each morning in the master bedroom, you see the view without even leaving your bed. A must is seeing the sunrise and sunset from the viewing platform, totally unforgettable.

The open plan layout of the villa, ceiling fans and the cross winds through the house kept the inside at an ambient temperature. Our fears about the lack of air conditioning were unfounded.

Avalon is in Old Towne a quiet peaceful part of the Island. The Beach Bar, a short drive from the villa is just a fun place to relax, enjoy a beer and some good food. Olverston House, with its rich history, nice cuisine and a warm welcome is also nearby.

Dyann’s team were friendly, helpful and always willing to have a chat telling you more about the island and its history. Dyann was always contactable by phone or email for advice, help and useful ideas or suggestions.
Not if, but when we return to the island Avalon will be our first choice for a place to stay and we could not recommend it highly enough. --

Gorgeous oceanfront villa, with to-die-for views

One of the nicest villas on the island, literally. Dyann made sure our stay would be wonderful and everything was prepared for us. The views of the volcano and the ocean, beach, and cliffs below are gorgeous. The area is lovely, with many other beautiful villas, and still very private and peaceful. The villa itself is furnished very tastefully, and the layout is perfect. My husband and I enjoyed our stay here so much- we have been to different areas of the Caribbean, and by far this villa and this island are the loveliest we've been to. The villa is located very near the Olveston House, which is a must for lunch and dinner. The beach below is fantastic and the sunsets here are gorgeous. The groundskeepers and housekeepers were wonderful and always kind. I would definitely recommend a rental car- Gage's car rental was wonderful. After seeing the island, this area is the best area to stay in, and Villa Avalon is perfect in every way. Thank you so much for an unforgettable experience- and since we drank from Runaway Ghaut- I'm quite sure we'll be back! -- USA

Comfortable, quit oceanfrontvilla

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Avalon in march. It was our first visit to Montserrat. We were looking for a comfortable, quit Villa with ocean view, By contacting Dyann, she told us Avalon would be perfect for us. And she was right! We have spent a great time there. Everything was perfectly organized by Dyann. The Villa is very well maintained and spacious. It has a good equipped kitchen and a gas BBQ so it was easy to prepare diner at home each night. All the rooms are so well aerated that there is absolutely no need for AC. If you are looking to discover a safe Island full of varied, beautiful nature with friendly people that is safe and without any mass tourism go to Montserrat and stay at Villa Avalon. -- S. Pehle

Most Amazing!

Amazing almost covers it! Amazing house! My family and I have been visiting Montserrat for 25 year, and this is the most amazing house we've stayed in yet! We had a lovely week of family time and friends visiting. So much room to entertain or to find a quiet spot amid the crowd. The gazebo room (complete with large flat screen TV, fridge, dining table and sitting area) was a great place for the kids/teens to hang out while adults visited in the main house and veranda. The open gazebo on the point past the pool provided wonderful spot for morning coffee and sunset cocktails. The pool is one of the largest on island :-). Plenty of lounge chairs and umbrella for all. Amazing views of sea and volcano! Amazing kitchen! for those that do love to cook, even on vacation! My eldest daughter loves to cook and had everything she could wish for, from making sorbet and waffle cones, Mini Banana Rum Bunt Cakes, Pizza...and my husband was felt right at home with the gas BBQ. A large kitchen window opening to the pool kept everyone in touch no matter what they were doing - or not doing :-) Amazing location! Easy walk up the back road to Olveston House for lunch and dinner if you don't want to cook. A healthy walking distance to the beach, or drive on down. Or, never leave the beauty and tranquility of the villa. The owner has maintained the spectacular Caribbean Style of architecture while adding every modern convenience: wifi, wine fridge, new appliances, on top of a full stocked-for-entertaining kitchen! One of the best places on island to enjoy with few or many. -- The Holmes Family, Mariposa, CA, USA

Idyllic Caribbean!

The villa is beautiful, in a fabulous position with breathtaking views. We could not have asked for more. Dyann was so welcoming and helpful and went above and beyond and it was always lovely to see Sioma when she came to care for the villa. The children loved the pool and watching the iguanas and chickens. The villa was also convenient for some great local restaurants and we particularly enjoyed The Attic for lunch and Olveston House in the evenings. Montserrat is such a very special place and we couldn't have had a more idyllic place in which to experience it. We cannot wait to return - thank you Dyann! -- D. Lucking

Only problem is...YOU'LL NEVER WANT TO LEAVE!

Just back from an outstanding 2 week stay at Avalon. The house is absolutely fantastic; it is spotless, superbly equipped, very roomy (we were 5 adults and it never felt crowded), beds are extremely comfortable, the kitchen is VERY well equipped and the property is immaculate. The house is so wonderfully comfortable that each morning we would plan all the sight-seeing we were going to do that day and more often than not we would end up relaxing by the pool and soaking up the sun (not to mention the indescribable views!) or lounging in the outdoor living room. The caretakers of the property are wonderful, notably Seoma and James (aka Sprocket), they were always ready to help and an absolute pleasure to deal with. As for the owner, from the outset Dyann was wonderful to work with, very helpful and flexible and not only delivered on everything she promised but she also kept in touch with us throughout our stay to ensure our 200% satisfaction! She even went so far as to help us secure a hotel reservation for our overnight stay in Antigua the night before our flight home. No request was too much for Dyann and she was always ready to assist us with anything we needed. Thank you Dyann for making our vacation so special and hassle-free! We would HIGHLY recommend this property without hesitation. The only problem is...you'll NEVER want to leave! -- Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Beautiful Avalon

Avalon is fabulous. It is comfortable, beautifully situated and scrupulously clean. I didn't want to leave... even to go to the shops! I have stayed in other villas on Montserrat but I must say, Avalon is by far my favorite. I should also say that Dyann (the owner) is second to none when it comes to making sure that you enjoy your stay. I thoroughly recommend it! -- C. Cronin

An oasis in paradise !

Before the volcano erupted in Montserrat, a number of distinguished families had developed second homes on the Island. They are still there now. Anyone who really knows the Caribbean also knows that Montserrat is a gem; by far the safest, friendliest and unspoilt island in the region. It is clear why discerning people choose Montserrat for their second home. Stay at Villa Avalon and you will experience Montserrat at its best. I stayed at Avalon long-term because I have been working on the island. Dyann is the perfect hostess and friend. She made sure everything was just right before I moved in. She was never far away (via email or phone) whenever I needed anything, and kept Avalon extremely well maintained. She has great taste in furnishings and likes to see everything well cared for, from the house to the grounds, and the pool. Avalon is located at the corner of a bluff overlooking a fabulous beach. For most of the year the neighbours make only infrequent and short visits, so I had the bluff to myself ... what a perfect way to unwind at the end of each day after work and at the weekends. But, when I wanted to entertain friends, Dyann had provided all that is needed, including a gas-operated BBQ. Avalon can accommodate plenty of guests for outside afternoon events, or six within the relaxed dining area. The layout of the villa means that the host/hostess can easily go between the kitchen and dining areas, making it convenient to serve guests and keep an eye on what's still cooking! Avalon has been my home and I will be hard-pressed to find another place at my next assignment where I will feel so at home while being away from home. Avalon really is a "Home Away" !!! -- John Cox

A little piece of paradise

Avalon was not only picturesque, comfortable and much more then advertised; it provided all the necessities needed for as long as you can stay. We walked to several beaches for bodysurfing and snorkelling, but rest was the goal of the trip and Avalon provided the perfect get-a-way location. Thank you Montserrat for the wonderful trip.

An Oasis on Montserrat

Lime Tree Villa is perfectly located. It is high enough for those amazing views to the sea and just close enough to see the magnificent Soufriere Hill Volcano. The photos don't do justice to this quaint villa perfect for a romantic getaway. It was beautifully maintained and spotlessly clean with all the amenities you would ever need. Having our very own private pool was lovely and we were often the only two people on the beautiful beaches nearby. The people of Montserrat make you feel welcome and always have a smile. They honk and wave as you pass by! Fresh fruit is in abundance even for sale at the side of the road...grapefruit, oranges, mangos, etc. If you like to swim, snorkel, kayak, hike, relax and watch gorgeous sunsets, then this is the place for you! The owners were very attentive and kind. We highly recommend this villa as your home away from home on Montserrat! Thank you Dyann :) -- Rachel Rose

The Ultimate Island Get-Away!

This was our second trip to Montserrat. Our first trip was so great we wanted to return, but there's always that feeling of, "Will it be as good as the first time." The second trip was as good as, if not better, than the first - which was hard to beat! Avalon is an amazing place to stay, and Dyann and her staff have a sixth sense for knowing what you may want and providing it before you can even ask! The house is wonderful. The bedrooms are a great size and the beds are very comfortable. The view from the main bedroom is stunning - you know you are somewhere special from the minute you open your eyes in the morning! You'll wonder if you're dreaming when you have your coffee by the pool, or an evening cocktail watching the sun go down. There just isn't a bad view from the house! The dining room seats six, and two more places can be added for a larger party. The kitchen is very well equipped enabling you to make a meal at your island home. There is also a BBQ available. Groceries are available at one of several local stores, Ram's being the closest. Be aware that product availability isn't guaranteed, so flexibility is key! Seoma and James do a wonderful job of ensuring everything is taken care of. The house and grounds are immaculately maintained. It was always a pleasure to see Seoma's smiling face when she arrived! Dyann is just an amazing, lovely person who constantly goes above and beyond to ensure you're having a great time. Montserrat is an amazing place. If you're looking for an island where you can completely relax, this is the place for you! For those who are more active, hiking and swimming opportunities abound. Avalon is a great place to stay and from where to launch all of your island adventures! Time to start planning that third trip! -- R. Pummell, Hartford, CT USA

Private oceanfront and Iguana wait-staff
Lacking anything else, we chose Avalon based on the photos, and were not disappointed. With a garden & patio literally perched on a cliff overlooking the Caribbean, Avalon might have the best location on Montserrat. There's a 270 degree view from Soufriere to Redonda, with sunset dead center. There's a sizable tribe of Iguanas in the garden (don't fret, they're vegetarian and much appreciate a donation of lettuce) and although you may mock, it's possible to spend many fascinated hours Iguana-watching. We have a large memory card of Iguana photos.

The house has one of the best outdoor living spaces we have seen in travels to 30+ countries, perhaps 2500 sq ft/250 sq mt. Partly roofed, partly not, with great, comfy "slob-out" furniture. There are abundant ceiling fans, although we hardly needed them -- Avalon is situated perfectly to catch the trade winds, which blow most of the time, and we never felt uncomfortably warm. Plan on living outside; you'd be crazy not to.

Inside, the house is nicely appointed. The bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms and are decently sized, light & bright with screened and shuttered windows, ceiling fans and 2 of the 3 bedrooms have amazing views. What you see in the online photos is fairly close to what you see lying in bed.

The kitchen is reasonably sized and well equipped. Montserrat is not a hub of tourist activity, which alone makes it worth visiting. But it also means that dining options are limited and therefore we cooked-in a lot, for which the kitchen was perfectly adequate. Conveniently, Avalon is located maybe a mile from what's probably the best supermarket on the island, Rams. Anyone who's spent time on small islands will be pleasantly surprised by some of the products that they carry, and equally unsurprised by the products that they don't.

The owner is truly delightful and attentive. She's available day & night and did everything possible to make our stay exceptional, including a tour of the island and introductions to local residents, who made the trip quite special. We felt more connected to the island than almost anywhere else that we've been.

We stayed for 12 days and I can't think of a single problem other than drinking too many umbrella drinks while gazing at the view. We'll be returning, and if the owner ever felt insanely charitable, we'd buy the place. If Avalon doesn't make you go "Wow!" then you have no pulse and it's quite possible that your soul has been surgically removed.
